Below you’ll find our general size chart. The measurements listed are body measurements in inches. When using it as reference, please keep in mind that we add ease to these measurements as appropriate and the actual measurements of garments will vary from this chart.

Emmelle garments are generally considered to have a generous cut and it’s not uncommon for people to size down from their usual size in other brands. While we have a selection of styles and silhouettes that are cut closer to the body, many of our styles are cut with an easy-fit or oversized fit.

We’ve also been making and designing garments for over 40 years, some of which we still offer today. Sizing trends have shifted over the years, therefore we have some sizing inconsistencies between styles.

While we describe our garments as “easy-fit,” all bodies are different! Some of our most common alterations are hemming (pants and dresses), lifting shoulders, and shortening sleeves. If something is not quite right when you first try it on, we are happy to help with alteration recommendations in the showroom or virtually.
